2017 Mustang GT500 Review

With the Detroit auto show coming to an end we were able to witness the first ever sight of the 2017 Mustang GT500 model. After this the pictures have quickly circled the web and we were able to see just how the model is going to be and how will it look. The model has showcased a super-light carbon structure with aluminum additions as well and a 600-plus horsepower engine to blast you through the building.

This may yet prove to be the greatest supercar built by Ford and the newest Mustang GT500 shows how well it can performance and even outperform the competition with its newest setup. The legendary car is going to get some modern reshaping in an attempt to recreate the most famous days of the Mustang era.

The legend started in the heydays of racing which were in the 50s and 60s. Ferrari was the dominant vehicle at the time so Ford wanted to get into the contention. Ford was initially supposed to buy Ferrari but at the last moment they opted out of the deal. Leaving Ford infuriated with the outcome of the deal the only remaining solution was to build a car which would match the Italian one at the Le Manse race. Well the outcome of that strife was the first ever Ford GT brand which would later one become the Mustang GT500.

The pictures have already been posted about this new model and we are seeing them everywhere already and are expecting to see the car into action. The production ready vehicle is going to be offered next year and till then read the review about the car and get your perspective about it.

The new 2017 Mustang GT500 is going to have both a remarkable and a recognizable design. The car adopts are signature GT nose with dual ducts to the front of it as it creates both a menacing and a memorable look at the same time. The rear of the car is a real game change for the vehicle as it poses a new look which is much more modern looking than any other GT brand created so far. With round hips and a crisp cut the car is a reminder of modern Ferrari vehicle and it even comes with buttress wings which help with adding extra downforce. And let’s not forget the huge  canon exhaust outlets  that are mounted high-center of the model.

The greenhouse is wide but is less open than the previous cars ever were. This actually helps with the aerodynamic features of the car and makes for a better vehicle overall. This new model is sleek and looks less like a brick compared to the other older models. This one is characterized by some extra added details that are a reminder to some of the older models that have been made. But the devil is in the details, as they said and sometimes we need just enough of those to make a car great.

The main traits of the 2017 Mustang GT500 is that it has an interior which is purposefully built. The cabin has been designed to induce control and usability at the same time. An interesting thing about the seat arrangement is that  integrated into the car’s monocoque shell and it provides a direct connection with the chassis as it gives the driver a better feel and insight for the behavior of the car. With a fixed seating position comes an adjustable steering wheel  and pedals which allow people of different size to easily squeeze in and use the cockpit.

The steering wheel is an F1-inspired steering wheel which is something borrowed from a Ferrari model. This actually opens up the steering column and provides an uncluttered access to the shift paddles  which are used to control the ’GTs transmission. A large LCD is used as the gauge cluster which allows the configurable display to provides various different information on the display. You can chose different modes and make your display and access to information the way you like it.

Well it appears that this might be a revolutionary year of the 2017 Mustang GT500 as they are getting ready to get rid of the V8 engine used before. This is going to make way for the new 3.5-liter, EcoBoost V-6 which is going to be the part of the powertrain this year. It is going to use two turbos and is the next-generation EcoBoost motor which was used for the IMSA Daytona Prototype made by Ford some time ago. The exact power rating was still not given but it is certainly around 600 horsepower for sure. The shifter is the seven-speed, dual-clutch transaxle and this time there is not going to be a manual transmission GT provided.
