2017 BMW X5 Review

The trend of making a redesigned model every five or six years is going to spawn the new 2017 BMW X5 model. This release has been much anticipated as BMW is following its full-proof formula of redesigning and updating their cars. They are going release its next X5 model which was already spotted covered in camo and doing test runs. The confirmation is all but there and the only thing that is missing is the final release date, but will appear soon.

The BMW X5 was released for the first time in 2000 and marked BMW’s inclusion to the SUV segment for the first time. Since then the car managed to make some crossover versions, with three models coming below it and three above it in the lineup. The first addition was the E70 X5 model which appeared in 2006, and after that there was the F15 generation X5 which came to us in 2013. As they are following the same formula which is more than noticeable, the next car comes next year.

The 2017 BMW X5 is currently in its earlier stages of development and there is still a whole lot that needs to be determined and decided, but luckily there is a whole lot that we already know about, thus the review. The model is going to develop pretty fast judging by the look that it has now and will be a great new model in the X5 lineup.

Even though the 2017 BMW X5 exterior design still needs some work, it is basically what we will get when the car actually hits the pavement. The model is going to be updated compared to the previous version but will not bear a heavy update that will drastically change the composure and the features of the car. The new model removes the side skirts and has a minimalistic looking front fascia, which is further enhanced by the return of the headlights from the original 2000 model. The front end of the car is perhaps the skeleton of the car and we can see this happening. The hood on the other hand is a far cry from the current one as the features have been significantly toned down.

The side of the 2017 BMW X5 has a significantly similar look to the current model than anything else. It keeps the familiar side line which runs along the doors and fenders of the car. There are additional lower body lines added for more flair. The rear end may need some more work, and as there is still more time it will assembly receive more new updates. They are planning to make it more distinct and go with the flow of the entire concept of the new 2017 model.

The interior of the 2017 BMW X5 is the least discussed part currently. There are less information about the inside but updates are coming out soon. The model is going to sport enhancements, that is for sure, and they are mainly going to concentrate on the comfort settings and also updating the technological side of the car. As they are making the comfort levels high, it was only normal that they get the technical side updated as well so the car features all new and contemporary equipment. There is going to be a different instrument cluster involved and generally speaking the cabin will be pleasing. Also confirmed is the new  TFT display which isg going to substitute the traditional needle gauges.

The infotainment screen will be both thinner and larger and small changes to the dash and center console are also expected to happen. Also there are some indications that the newest X5 model might come with gesture control  which have already been added to the BMW 7 Series. This is entirely possible and we see this option as toping the list of amentias that the model will come with. Also, models built in USA have been approved with remote parking which is going to be included for the 2017 BMW X5 model.

It appears that the 2017 BMW X5 will continue using the same powertrian as it has been till now. For the time being this is an acceptable solution as the engine options still bring a solid addition to the performance of the car. The base version is going to be the 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder which makes t 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, while you can also choose a diesel version as there is a  3.0-liter I-6 that comes with 255 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque.  The X5 xDrive50i version uses the  4.4-liter V-8 with 445 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. If the models remain the same, it also might suggest improving the power and adjusting the fuel efficiency which is also a possible option here.
