The BMW X3 brand was always an all-around vehicle which brought to its immense popularity. It combines such elements as style, versatility, luxury and efficiency which go pretty well with ht perfect driving mechanics and form one of the best offers in the segment. The current version is the 2015 which brought a great refresh and managed to keep the vehicle afloat by also adding a new four-cylinder diesel engine choice.
The latest 2017 version of the BMW X3 is going to incorporate a new modular design and is also going to upgrade the power of the car. With enhanced interior space, comfort gestures and BMW’s technology, the X3 receives a very good update which is keeping it in the position it has already established in the market.
Based on the latest spy photos and rumors that are circling the globe, the car is in for an early release and thus we have prepared the review to help you get to know the model better.
As the current model is already a good looking one, the exterior of the 2017 BMW X3 is going to be a little bit fine tuned in order to bring us a refined style. The front side, of course, retains its kidney grille but makes it a little bit larger. The headlights are going to be similar but actually slightly different from the current model as these ones are given backward “C” to the corners. The LED strip runs from the backwards corner under the bulbs. The fog lamps are going to be carried over and air dam takes are going to same overall shape horizontal louver runs from one side to the other. The corner vents also have the same shape but are a little bit shorter.
The side of the car has different body lines. The current model has an upper body line curving down at the front wheel arch, but this new one has a design which simply runs straight from the fender back. The crease in the center of the doors is sharper and the body line of the bottom doors has a mirror effect which makes it pop out from the body. The Dual-five-spoke wheels are being incorporated here and come standard for the model.
The rear end of the car is going to see minor changes which and the model is actually going to be toned down in the back. We might see a similar design to the taillights that was done the headlights, but other than that the look is going to remain mostly the same for the 2017 BMW X3 rear end.
The interior of the 2017 BMW X3 has also been updated in a similar manner the outside has been. The model takes in a new look which manages to expand a bit on the current one by giving it a refined look. The steering wheel is different and is exchanged for a longer bottom spoke steering wheel that has silver buttons and a silver insert over the bottom spoke. The instrument cluster is also a little bit recessed but it still uses digital instruments like a digital speedo and a digital tachometer placed left and right from the steering.
The majority of the center console has been kept intact and the only major change is a different shifter handle. There is a gray trim insert placed around the center console around the control knob. Also the position of the shifter and the cup holders is pushed back a little bit. The HVAC and infotainment system is just above the cup holders but it changes the center stack part. The infotainment screen still has two center vents but the screen has not been recessed into the dash this time and is a free standing unit that elevates out of the top of the center stack.
The 2017 BMW X3 is going to continue its use of a similar engine setup as it had before. It is going to offer a couple of gasoline variants as well as a diesel one also. The 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-banger is going to be the main source and variant for the car which is able to give us an output of 240 horsepower. The other stronger option is the turbocharged 3.0-liter engine that has an output of 300 horsepower. Fans of diesel engines may also chose a four-cylinder diesel with an output of 180 horsepower.
