2016 Maserati Alfieri Release Date, Price, Specs, Engine – Maserati is one of the most well0-known luxury and sports car automakers in the world and will be turning 100 years this year. With the occasion expected to take place, Maserati has announced the release of the new 2016 Maserati Alfieri, which will be the fifth in the Maserati brothers.
The first time we saw the car was during the Geneva Motor Show last year when it was still a concept and by the looks of things, the vehicle is expected to win the hearts and souls of many with its arrival.
For starters, the name Alfieri Maserati is from the four brothers who founded the company, and derives its inspiration from the 1954 Maserati A6 GCS race and road car. The new vehicle will come based on the Maserati Granturismo MC Stradale chassis, and will use the Brembo callipers and carbon-ceramic brakes as well.
The automakers say they have done their best to make sure the vehicle does not surpass the 1400 kg’s weight. The review below will be useful to anyone looking forward to the novel 2016 Maserati Alfieri.
2016 Maserati Alfieri exterior
The exterior of the new 2016 Maserati Alfieri will be unique to say the least. The overall shape of the vehicle is identical to the ageing GT but the details are new and refreshed. Both the headlights and taillights are redesigned and look very futuristic.
The design language is aggressive and angular and has resulted in the car having an assertive look. Both the front and rear lights will come with LED technology in them.
Upfront, the engineers made use of a similar grille as the Quattroporte, which has contributed in making the car look aggressive. At the posterior end, there are quad exhaust system and a massive diffuser which add to the overall sporty look.
The vehicle will sit comfortably on 20” wheels with high performance tires which we should hopefully expect in the production model.
2016 Maserati Alfieri interior
The interior of the 2016 Maserati Alfieri concept has 2+2 layout. The layout will come donned in high quality leather interior and top quality equipment. From what we understood from the showcasing of the novel 2016 Maserati Alfieri concept car, we should expect the final production car to come with a similar interior to the Quattroporte, while the design language should incline more to the GT.
Not much information was provided during the display of the concept last year, but what we know is that the new car will be built around a large central infotainment screen display, and is highly probable that the same will feature in the production car.
The 2+2 cabin interior will be finished in the same material that simulates the oxidised steel finish found on the iconic 1950’s race vehicles.
2016 Maserati Alfieri engine
Under the hood of the new 2016 Maserati Alfieri will be different engines, which will be offered for different buyers. And while the previous GT model featured a wide selection of the V8 engines that ranged from 400-550 hp, the new 2016 Maserati Alfieri will come with a different selection of engines that will prove its sporty nature.
The base model will come with a 3L twin turbocharged V6 engine which is also found in other Maserati cars. With this engine, the car will be able to generate up to 410 hp and 450 pounds of torque.
The output figures indicate a power bump from the previous base engine. On the other end, the top of the range model will come with a 3.8L V8 engine with twin-turbochargers. The least power that will be expected from the engine will be about 525 hp, while the SuperSport model on the other hand will yield a minimum of a whopping 600 hp.
With such an engine, the vehicle will easily outshine its rivals when speed is concerned, we however hope that it will come in the production model. The transmission system is expected to be exquisite than ever before.
The base model is expected to be offered with the RWD and 8-speed auto gearbox while the more powerful vehicle will get the AWD and the 8-speed auto gearbox. The fuel economy ratings are expected to increase by 15%, while the performance is expected to be at par with that of the GT-R and 911.
2016 Maserati Alfieri price and release date
The new 2016 Maserati Alfieri is yet to provide the official pricing of the Alfieri, but we expect the new model to come with a price tag of around 118,855 pounds. The release date will be somewhere towards the second quarter of next year.
