With the release of the new newest 2016 LX 570 vehicle we get an updated car which is finally going to mix up the style of the LX vehicle. The current model kept its cool for around 20 years now and it was due for a change. The 2016 model promises to change a lot for the vehicle and will once again bring it closer to contention.
The first Lexus LX was built in 1995 and was actually a primed up version of the Toyota Land Cruiser. Being that this was its largest rival back then, the vehicle posed some impressive characteristics in the start of its career. What Lexus managed to do with their version of the Land Cruiser, so to say, was to add minor style changes and impose a better interior, which ultimately led to the now famous LX models that went throughout the period.
The latest Lexus LX 570 was unveiled for the first time in 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance which also saw the unveiling of the GS sedan model as well. The vehicle was updated with a look which made it much different than the latest Toyota but also gave it some distinguishable appearance features which make it a Lexus vehicle all together. This is going to be the third-gen LX and you can read all about it in this review. The latest specs are very interesting compared to the previous version.
2016 Lexus LX 570 exterior
The exterior of the latest 2016 Lexus LX 570 features a design which goes beyond than a mere facelift. The car has completely new and updated sheet metal and only carries over the door skins. The Lexus spindle grille design is equally a part of the look which sees the vehicle updated as a modern car. The design may be new but it is certainly not the boldest one although being pretty good for the updated automobile. Surrounding the grille are the new headlights which have LED daytime running accents while the lower fascia has received some angularly designed fog lights which help it match better with the entire front side of the vehicle.
The best part of the design is actually the shape of the rear windows which complements the entire design and look of the car. The D-pillars have remained the same but the vehicle looks a bit boxy in its appearance which was not the case with the previous generation of LX vehicles. The car will roll in with some 20-inch wheels as standard but will include the 21-inch ones as optional wheel choices. The back side of the vehicle is also reshaped as it gains some L-shaped taillights which add some attitude to the car. The tail gate of the car has been kept and can be operated the same way like on a conventional SUV car.
The interior of the 2016 Lexus LX 570 has been completely overhauled but it is the technological upgrade that makes a whole lot of difference compared to before. First of all, there is a new 12.3-inch display set on the central part of the instrument panel, which you can control using a mouse-like Remote Touch Interface placed on the center console. The gauge cluster is upgraded with a 4.2-inch multi-information display and the rear seat passengers getting a 11.6-inch screens for their entertainment, which you can enhance on further by adding the optional infotainment features for the back side. And finally, there is a new optional head-up display which is also a great addition to the overall design of the car.
The Lexus LX 2016 has finally been given a luxury flagship look which it deserves and we feel that this is the best type of a design the vehicle has been fitted with. The cabin adds a cleaner look with a more useful and overall better button layout on the dash. There is the same three-spoke steering wheel that you can also see on the current Toyota car but which looks much better being added to this vehicle. The interior also adds a new wood trim with some matte walnut trim additions. The vehicle can fit up to eight passengers and has three rows of seats with the second row being very roomy and suitable for the people that you plan to drive. The third row may still need a little bit of work done as it seems kind of quirky with the seats that are folded to the sides of the cargo area.
Besides the exterior and the interior upgrades, the 2016 Lexus LX 570 also received some updates to its drivetrain. The vehicle is still going to use the same type of the 5.7-liter V-8 engine but the change for this year is going to be the new transmission system as the old six-speed automatic is going to be replaced with a new version of the eight-speed transmission. The announced power rankings will be the same and they are going to amount to 383 horsepower and 403 pound-feet of torque, but the EPA rating have not been officially announced but we expect a rate of 12 mpg city and 17 mpg highway. The vehicle will again come with an all-wheel drive and a tow rating of 7,000 pounds.
Price and release date
The latest version of the 2016 Lexus LX 570 will have a starting price of $83,180 as a base MSRP, but that price will perhaps go up to $92,485 with the added trims and optional equipment. The vehicle will be released in mid year so expect to see it come July.
