The transmission will be six-speed which will be offered as standard while the towing load will be 5,000 lbs. when properly equipped. The base four cylinder powertrain is rated at 20/27 mpg in the city/highway with the front wheel drive while the all-wheel drive will give you 19/25 mpg.

2016 Kia Sorento price (MSRP) and release date

The msrp of the standard 2016 Kia Sorento line up is as follows; the base L model with 2.4L engine and FWD will cost $24,900, 2.4L LX with FWD will cost $26,200 while that with the AWD will cost $28,000.


The upper trim levels with either 3.3L LX or 3.3L EX will cost up to 43,100 USD. In the United States market, the 2016 Kia Sorento will brace for competition which will emanate from the Toyota Highlander and the Honda Pilot.

Though the auto maker has not announced the specific release date of the 2016 Kia Sorento, we should expect the new Sorento to make its North American debut late this year during the LA Auto Show.
