2016 Ford Escape engine
As we said the car boasts with a trio of engine options that gives you a variety of choice and the capability of choosing the purpose of your Escape. The base 2016 Ford Escape S comes with a standard engine option which is the 168-hp 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder which comes with a standard 6-speed shiftable automatic and also enables 70 lb-ft of torque. With the only FWD drive available in this trim the gas mileage numbers are set at 22 mpg city/31 highway/25.
Both the SE and Titanium trims come with a choice of two engines. The first and base option is the 1.6-liter turbocharged I4 t which you can use with a 6-speed shiftable automatic. It comes back with a power output of 178 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. So as the cars have both the AWD and FWD options, you can expect the gas mileage numbers to be at 23/32/26 for FWD and 22/30/25 in AWD versions.
The last engine option which is also the strongest one is also available for only the higher trims of the Escape and comes as an optional choice. It is a 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 that is able to develop 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. It combines with a traditional 6-speed shiftable automatic and produce 22/30/25 gas mileage rates with a FWD and 21/28/23 with an AWD.
The best part of any Ford Escape vehicle was always the inside and things do not change that much with the 2016 version as well as the update is contemporary and more than appropriate. The base version can also boast with a standard and a very nice set of equipment that has been added but the fun part begins with the higher trims as always. The base S version comes with new upholsteries, cruise controls features, telescoping tilt-wheel steering, an integrated blind-spot mirror and also has some backup camera and manual air conditioning to up the ante a bit.
Inside the SE and the Titanium trims is where the fun starts and where things become interesting. The SE can boast with a remote keyless entry, power-adjustable driver’s seat, satellite radio and some premium leather upholsteries that are upgraded compared to the base trim. But the Titanium comes with even better upholsteries power-adjustable heated front seats with memory for driver settings, auto-dimming rear-view mirror and a Sony premium audio system with 10 speakers and HD Radio. Besides the upgraded additions that the higher levels have, the base version is also a fine choice and will provide you with what you need, but if you still want more go for the higher ones.
The exterior is where the least parts of the 2016 Ford Escape have changed. The car is going to remain more or less the same and will sport the similar look it has had for recent years. The look was already great so there was no need to expand upon it in a big way. The fans have already been happy with how the car looked and they will certainly be happy with the entire update that has been given for the 2016 version.
What the car comes with is a standard set of 17-inch wheels available for all options. The S version gets some steel ones which the SE and the Titanium have the use of some alloy ones, and also the Titanium makes it available for you to get the 18-inhc ones as well. The base version also comes with a sunroof and all come with a variety of color choices that you can choose as there are some new ones added to the mix this time.
