2016 Chrysler 200 Release Date, Price, Specs, Interior, MPG – The new 2016 Chrysler vehicle is many things, but we can certainly say that it does not stand out from a functionality point of view. But this car has got some of its perks and advantages and one of them is the style of design it comes back to us for this model year. Fitted with a new V-6 engine, the car also has some upgraded performance specs.
The Chrysler 200 brand is fairly a young name. It has made its debut last year for the fist time as it managed to produce a pretty decent car with some suitable characteristics. Yet the vehicle needed some remodeling and some of the issues were addressed with the updated that comes to us for the upcoming model year.
The new mid-size sedan is going to have a few stylish changes to it. The interior will include some additions that are more than needed for the brand and also update the exterior a bit. The Chrysler 200 competes in one of the most complete segments on the market and will have to face off with a large competition. We assume that it may not come on top but we cannot deny its potential as it brings a handsome demeanor and a very nice appealing package. Check out the review for all the updates of the car.
2016 Chrysler 200 exterior
The new design of the 2016 Chrysler 200 has been refreshed a bit. This is particularly noticeable at the front as the added features truly make the new design a bit fresh looking. The shape of the front part is really smooth and rounded and has been updated with a new grille design as well. These new additions, although few, update the vehicle pretty well as they provide the car with a look that is livelier than before but in all senses pretty elegant. It actually ups the price a bit, but only with the looks, as the car will have a more expensive feel and look to it than it actually is.
The roofline of the vehicle is very long and it swoops down quickly to the tail part and the short and now very flush decklid. All of these additions are have not been a standard inclusion to the current 200 car nor have they been included in the Chrysler 300 one. They are something new as the manufacturers are trying to provide the 200 with its own trademark look and brand name. Being that the brand is fairly young and that the first model was a good choice, this one will provide a natural development for the car and perhaps prepare it for the future endeavors that are to come.
The inside of the car has been reworked more than the outside. The new 2016 Chrysler 200 receives a more plush and functional interior, making it that much useful and appealing as well. First of all, the dash has been covered with some soft and luxury materials to make the look and feel of the cabin much useful. It retains the previous shape but now looks better than ever. With the pass-through storage area and the rotary shift controlle-r that have been placed on the center console we can see how well the composure of the car has been made. Some fine tuning has been made with the finishing touches, but all in all this kind of a design works pretty well and updates the vehicle nicely.
The interior spacing capabilities have been tampered a bit as well. The car is roomer and fits in more than before. On first look the car now has abundance of space, but the reality is that the front part does have more of it while the back seats are still a bit cramped. Particularly the door cutlines make it that much difficult to get in the rear seats as well. But they do have the added flip-down armrest and enough storage area that has been built in as well. The fact that the spacing needs a bit of reworking still does not allow us to give the highest mark to the interior, but it is close. Chrysler shows that they can grow and make this vehicle better and that the added changes on the inside may be left for some future models. But according to the pictures of the interior it is a near-perfect rearrangement.
The Chrysler 200 gets a bit of an update under the hood, as you have some more options to choose from this time. The base version is going to be the 2.4-liter four engine that can develop 184-horsepower. But the bigger news is the newly added V-6 engine that can make 295-horsepoer. The new engine options comes combined with a manual shifter. There is a 9-speed shifter available as well but as we have seen it perform better when it is paired with the base engine option. Either way you can also opt between an front-wheel drive, which comes as a standard of course, the all-wheel drive one as well.
Price and release date
The price for the newest 2016 model of the Chrysler 200 is set at base MSRP of 21,995 USD. There have been rumors of a convertible option but no confirmation has been made till now. The Limited trim with the AWD has a price of 24,347 USD, while the FWD S version comes at 25,570 USD. But the priciest is the C trim which comes with a FWD available and a price tag of 27,450 USD. All engine options and all trim levels will immediately be released when the base one makes its debut which is scheduled to be next year. The closest we can say is that the release date is going to be sometimes in March.
