2016 Chevrolet Silverado Release Date, Engine ,MSRP Price, Specs – The new 2016 Chevrolet Silverado is released to you with a very traditional approach of making the tuck vehicle but includes some modern new characteristics and a very comfortable interior. With a more than a great inside update and a very high level of added technology on the inside of the Silverado, Chevy has decide to modernize its traditional look and escape for a bit from this premise of making the truck car.
Three years ago, the Silverado has gone through its major redesign that was due for years. But even after these many changes that the car has gone through Chevrolet continues to modernize and update its car. This time we do not get a major redesign, but we get an opportunity to include some additions and modern equipment to make the Silverado even better. The most notable changes are seen at the front end of the car and inside the vehicle, as there are many interesting additions and gadgets now fitted as a standard part of equipment.
The sales of the Silverado have bolstered ever since the 2014 update which included some more innovation within the car and made the truck a better version with plenty of additions and cool features. This time they are hoping to continue upon this by continuing the evolution of the Silverado with greatly designed exterior and an interior to match. With the combination of a new more fuel-efficient engine, we are assuming that the new Silverado will do an even better job and topple the sales of the previous trucks in the line.
2016 Chevrolet Silverado exterior
Chevrolet continues its Silverado line with a refined look of its truck for the 2016 model year. The car retains its boxy shape which is perhaps a traditional look for the Silverado but has other additional things going for it this time. The greatest changes can be seen in the front end of the car. It has a more refined and a chiseled look than before. The updated does wonders for the front end of the car and truly reinvigorates it for the upcoming model year. Chevy also sticks to a much more traditional approach when it comes to designing its new Silverado as it retains its steel body materials and looks of the car, which is perhaps not the case of the competition which is downsizing.
Yet, a look which includes a combined characteristics of a traditional car like truck and a vehicle that people are used to getting when trucks are involved with a modem approach to it is a great way for the Silverado to move forward. The dual lamps that were sued before were dropped and a single light profile is back. It also adds the LED features to the headlights and manages to modernized the car entirely. There is also a lot less chrome this time which may tones down the aggressiveness but not in a way that takes too much form the Silverado.
The interior has been entirely modernized and fits the look of a contemporary vehicle. Despite being a tuck the inside feeling is much better now as the Silverado has received a look which is both comfortable and nice to be in. There are many control features that were added and have been placed quite conveniently inside. For instance, all the controls have been set at both sides of the vehicle or have been neatly laid out across the dash. This accounts for much better and easier use of these controls. The surface across the dahs has already been updated some years ago and retains its soft touch rubbery material this time for the 2016 version. Also all the controls, like the knobs and switches in the vehicle have been redesigned to be bigger and thus can be easily operated with, even using a gloved hand.
With the addition of more in-floor insulation, the cabin of the Silverado is much more pleasant and quiet. The atmosphere is a lot better than before as the cabin does not let any extra noise come inside and does not provide any uncomfort this way. The highest trim levels are the High Country model and the Denali one which both have increased comfort levels inside it and provide it to be so with some durable leather and a unique wood trim. This is actually something that a lot of Chevrolet trucks missed the previous years and it is a welcomed new addition to the design now.
Perhaps the engine lineup gets to be the same this year, but there are some quality new additions and innovative changes that have been added to the powertrain. All trims and all engine options of the new Chevrolet Silverado get direct injection, cylinder deactivation and a continuously variable valve system. The base engine is a EcoTec3 4.3-liter V-6, which provides an output of 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft, This engine option actually has a great amount of torque which could only be paired with heavier and larger crew cab models. There are also the 5.3-liter V-8, which makes 355 hp and 383 lb-ft, and the top and most powerful 6.2-liter V-8, which not only provides a power of 420 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque, it has a towing capacity of 12,000 pounds. All models get a new eight-speed automatic transmission, while there is an option of using the eight-speed one as well.
Price and release date
As this is still a work in progress there are scarce information about the price and the release date of the new Chevy Silverado truck. The 2016 model is expected to arrive next year but there is no way to know when, at least for now. We are expecting it to arrive till the middle of the year when the price is going to be offered as well. We have to be patient of both of these accounts and wait a bit longer for Chevrolet to come out with the exact figures.
