2016 BMW M3 Release Date, Price, Review, Colors – It was back in 2012 when BMW released its 6th generation of the 3 Series vehicle, but then without any particular reason decided to leave it on the bench for a while. The car waited till 2015 in order to receive its update and to get remodeled in a big way. This was welcomed with a lot of praise by the fans so the new 2016 redesign of the M3 is something that is going to be highly appreciated as well. This time the car gets a light remodeling that gets to show the car in a modern and updated look.
The BMW M3 will be released with a new body but will still be regarded as an updated and not a complete redesign. The fact is that BMW has been designing this car for quite some time now and this was confirmed with the announcement of the spy photos which circled the internet at first. But it later provide that this was a remarkable way to get some attention to the car and create a hype around it. As the car was covered with camouflage during testing, there was no way to speculate what the car was going to look like.
Yet, when the car was released or actually when the first pictures were released after shedding off the camo, the fans felt divided about the look. There have been not many significant updates so it made some of the fans unhappy as they expected so much more. But we actually do get a pretty decent car which will appear on the market pretty soon. The confirmation about this fact is that the price ranges for the 2016 BMW M3 have already been announced.
2016 BMW M3 exterior
Yes some will regard the exterior update of the new BMW M3 as somewhat disappointing. Perhaps the lack of ideas or the fact that they thought that they already had a good design kept them of adding too much to the car has stopped them to develop it a bit too further. But the truth of the matter is that the car does not feature a significant update and looks pretty much the same as before. The hype around the car was actually just a hype which enabled the people to get interested into the car as much as they could while leaving them with a vehicle which has done as much as to change the lights. The lights, both front and back, have really been exchanged and have been made to look similar to the ones in the 3 Series. They now also include the added LED technology update, but this is not what all the people were expecting for as it remains the only significant updated to the look of the car.
But to make things a bit more interesting, BMW has added a choice between three new colors to choose from. The now available ones are Champagne Quartz Metallic, Smoked Topaz Metallic and the highly exclusive Tanzanite Blue Metallic, and with the already present Azurite Schwarz Metallic, which was also available with the previous car model. Yet we can agree that the M3 is a good looking sports sedan, despite the lack of its updates. We appreciate seeing this car on the road in the future.
There are also some limited additions to the inside of the car as well. Although the BMW M3 vehicle has been renewed for the previous model in a great sense, the same thing did not happen for the 2016 model. The inside remains virtually the same with a few tweaks here and there and some additions that makes it look okay, but not in any way regarding this as a completely new design for the car. The newest additions are in fact the chrome highlights. You can see them on the center console, the center stack and the dashboard as well. This has been an attempt to make the car look newer and different than it actually is.
But there are some added technological updates and gadgets for the inside that makes it quite useful. The latest-generation Navigation system Professional with LTE, for instance, is a great admired addition and is certainly something the fans will be the most excited about when using this car. This is perhaps the fastest mobile standard currently available that the car gets but it is offered as optional in the M3, so be sure to include it when purchasing this car. There are some added upgrades that will be given as well but they will make its way into the car shortly before the release. This time the BMW decided to keep us in the dark about certain updates but we are hoping they get to be some good ones as the car is going to need them.
Under the hood of the 2016 model of the BMW M3 is the same engine as before. You will see the use of the same 3.0-liter inline-six engine that has already powered the car which produces 425 horsepower between 5,500 and 7,300 rpm, and 406 pound-feet of torque from 1,850 rpm to 5,500 rpm. As before a standard transmission is the six-speed manual transmission, but a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is offered as optional. Using the manual transmission the car can hit the 60 mph mark in 4.1 seconds, while with the DCT it lowers the 0-60 mph to 3.9 seconds. The top speeds also remains 155 mph. The fuel economy is not a strong point for this vehicle as you are looking at numbers which say 17 mpg city and 26 mpg highway with the manual gearbox and 17 mpg city and 24 mpg highway with the DCT one.
Release date and price
The release date has been set for this year. Expect the BMW M3 model to hit the stands this as soon as year although it is being released as the 2016 model. The price is already available and it is $64,195 base MSRP.
