The new 2016 Audi A8 sedan is perhaps the toughest vehicle that Audi has in its current lineup. Besides being tough it is highly exclusive and is a welcoming addition to the roster as it fills out a position that was necessary for the brand. Maybe it does not put out the fastest numbers and its speed is not the first thing that you think about when mentioning this car, but it does offer an immense and very fashionable experience.
The people are excited about this release the same way they were when the car came out for the first time. The original model made its debut by using an aluminum space frame and also offered an optional V-12 engine solution that was a very famous option for the model to have. Claims which mentioned that Audi was more of a mid-range brand were soon put to rest with the release of this model as it managed to show the exclusive nature in a great way and at the same time showcasing exceptional skill in manufacturing this kind of a car.
We can say that the A8 model took the longer road in order to reach fame but managed in the end to be ranked as high as any Mercedes-Benz or BMW full-size sedan product. So we can regard it as a true competitor now and something that goes neck and neck with the other competitors in the field.
For its 2016 update, there are a number of things that were added. The car is going to offer a new trim level this year and will also exclude the short wheelbase options out of its offer for this period. Also there are some changes that are going to occur with the powertrain as both the 3.0- and 4.0-liter gas engines are going to be offered. New this year is the A8 Sport which has a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine and a sportier appearance compared to other trims. read the rest of the review in order to find out the changes that were made and all the specs regarding the vehicle.
2016 Audi A8 sedan interior and exterior changes
The 2016 Audi A8 offers quite ample and likeable looks for its new version and the segment it is competing in. The luxury segment that it competes in has a lot of coupe-like creations that can be very popular and likeable, so it does not pay to slip in any way when making a new model. The A8 does not have the sleek appearance of the A7 but has a honed looked which is more than enough for this model. It actually has a lot of similarities with the smaller sedans from Audi, the A6 and A4 models respectively. It has the nose and the front end which is characteristic for most of the luxury brand sedan vehicles but has more elegance with the broad shoulders the model is able to provide. The added LEDs look more than awesome as they are placed both the the front and the rear of the car, but the grille is somewhat that does we do not regard at high value.
It appears that they managed to conserve some energy when designing the outside as it appears that they may have done a bit more and seems as if they held themselves back at one point. But this is all done on a proper way once we venture inside the car. The cockpit is perfectly designed and looks as if no single detail has been spared. It does not matter if you have it in wood, aluminum, plastic or leather it looks perfect for any occasion. With its fair share of lines, knobs and surface textures it still manages to look great particularly as it holds some materials which would usually be used on some upper trim level cars than this one. The end result is everything looking pretty exciting and certainly not distracting in any way.
Everything is in the detail which actually make this car much more high end than it actually is. For instance, the shifter lever has been designed in the same way the throttle is made in yacht or powerboats and there are also two tweeters that are seen rising up from the dashboard as well.
All in all, this model is the piece that was needed to bridge the gap between the A8 and S8 models. The new and aggressively updated front side of the car gives it a fresher look, which is just the right amount of aggression that the car needs when it comes to the exterior appearance of it.
2016 Audi A8 sedan engine performance
The 2016 Audi A8 is going to continue with the regular V-6, V-8, and W-12 engine lineup that it had before, but they are going to add a V-6 turbodiesel option as well which comes back with immense and excellent fuel economy. This engine variants adds 800-mile-per-tank, 36-mpg practicality that no other car that is worth as much as this one is able to give. The twin-turbo V-8 gives us an output of 520 horsepower while the V-6 version goes for an output of 333 hp and the most powerful is of course the V-12 engine which makes 500 hp, but we feel that the mid-range offer has just enough the power and fuel consumption that you are able to handle. Besides the new offer we see the mid-range one as the most applicable for the Audi A8.
Price and release date
