2017 Nissan Xterra

The designers are released a 2017 Nissan Xterra model in the coming year. It is an attempt to keep the brand afloat and to manage to get a hump in the sales which are already dwindling and have not been as favorable recently. In fact the Xterra models have taken a big slump when it comes to sales in recent years and the model has constantly been surpassed by some modern and more sophisticated vehicles. This update may try to solve some problems and keep the SUV competitive but we are not really sure if it will do the trick.

The original Nissan Xterra model was introduced in 1999 and was a traditional SUV model with off-road capabilities and was using the conventional body-on frame built. These characteristics alone were enough to keep your SUV a competitive one back in the day and the Xterra really was among the best cars in the segment. The Xterra was also a better choices compared to Pathfinder models which were top at the time and also made some innovations by using a pick up platform borrowing from the Frontier model.

But it all came to a holt once the demands of the market have changed and the SUV segment now demands so modernistic and comfortable car, leaving no room for the recent Nissan Terri models. This has prompted Nissan to make perhaps one last push and an attempt to keep the brand competitive by introducing an updated version for the 2017 model year. Our review will show you what are the recent changes introduced for the new model.

Exterior Redesign for the 2017 Nissan Xterra

The redesign for the 2017 Nissan Xterra is going to differ a little bit compared to the outgoing model. Yet those changes are not going to be firm and we do not get a whole lot of them. The model is mainly being updated and not redesigned so the conventional SUV users will still be happy but this will perhaps not be the case with the modern buyers.

The 2017 Nissan Xterra will retain its rugged properties and its off-road capability. They still manage to value ruggedness over comfort with this model and they are still using the same body-to-frame construction as before. The platform used for this model with now be taken from the F-Alpha platform truck. The carnages are still going to keep the Xterra slotted between the Murano and Rogue models in the Nissan lineup but with far more off-road capabilities. The car is good enough to compete against the Jeep Wrangler in some sense

Whether these changes enable the car to keep its position in the market remains to be seen but we cannot say that it will far favorable for the car. The changes might be appealing to some but others will still look for a more angular car and not such a robust SUV. We are perhaps looking at oen of the last Xterra models if things to not go their way.

Interior Reworking for the Car

The interior of the 2017 Nissan Xterra is still going to have a slew of contemporary features. The added gadgets for the inside are mainly going to follow the last update which saw a lot of things introduced inside the car. As the changes have mainly included technological upgrades, the 2017 version will feature the latest updates and software upgrades for the gadgets inside the car. Thus the car has the  Nissan Connect system as standard and an infotainment system that includes Bluetooth, USB connection, Mobile Apps, Sirius XM satellite radio. To control everything there is a large 5.0-inch touchscreen display that you can use to get the necessary information of the car.

The interior will also have some great materials added as well. They are still not as great as some of the current top models in the segment and the masculinity of the vehicle is still the prime choice that they are going for here. The model is going to introduce a new color scheme on the inside and that way make the 2017 Nissan Xterra more likable. But it still cannot compare with the other SUV models in the segment in terms of comfort.

Powertrain Options

Under the hood of every 2017 Nissan Xterra model you will find the same engine variant. There are going to be X, S, and PRO-4X trim levels available and all of them are going to use a 4.0-liter DOHC 24-valve  V-6 engine. The output of the car is thus measured at 261 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque and it comes with FWD, that use a five-speed automatic gearbox, and AWD models, which are paired with a six-speed manual transmission.

Release Date and Price

The sales for the 2017 Nissan Xterra are going to start next year. The release date has been established for the first quarter of 2017, pitting it most likely in March. The model is going to become available at all of its respective markets at the same time and the price is going to be somewhere between  $23,000 and $30,000 which is largely going to depending on the trim which you chose.

2016 Nissan Frontier

The newly announced 2016 Nissan Frontier is finally here. The news is backed up and followed with the confirmation about the release date and when the vehicle actually appears. But the sad thing about this car is that it is a mere update which does not do anything significantly for the brand. The model is unaltered and is not going to come with much changes done to it expect some additions to the Crew Cab SV and perhaps some new color variants.

But this does not mean that the Frontier is not a competitive truck at all. The model has gained a lot of momentum with the last release and the former changes that have been made. This still puts the Nissan Frontier in the top position when it comes to the segment the vehicle is competing in. The last time the vehicle was tampered with was in 2009 and those alteration still manage to hold on till now.

The vehicle keeps its boxed frame, two and four-wheel drive options perhaps the best cargo management options that any vehicle has. But what is also exciting to know is that the ca is going to retain the manual transmission option which it is going well off into the future. These options are not found in a Toyota Tacoma nor a Chevy Colorado.

As the Nissan Titan and the Nissan Titan XD are also under wraps this year, many people assume that the update for the 2016 Nissan Frontier was put on hold. Nissan were busy devising these vehicle so there was not much room to work on the Frontier option, thus the reason we got such a merge update. The future actually holds a lot for the Nissan Frontier brand as news about a next-gen model are rumored for 2018. But till then let’s concentrate on this one and check out the review.

You cannot but like the exterior styling of the 2016 Nissan Frontier. The traditional look of the Frontier is upscale and very classic and still works and holds its own in the market. The characteristics of this model are a small grille, a cool roof rack which is available for various trim levels and some large fender flares. The pickup is going to still offer various flairs as options, thus you can get an extended version the  King Cab or a four door Crew Cab. But the regular cab version is not going to be utilized anymore. You can get an optional 5-foot or a 6-foot bed but that is something that is optionally available and depends on the trim level you want to include it on.

The novelties are as we said few. The 2016 Nissan Frontier has not changed that much and many are going to wonder about that come the release date. The car is going to add new colors with the already present ones form before and make it a new setup for the car. The older ones begin Glacier White, Cayenne Red, Brilliant Silver, Lava Red, and Arctic Blue Metallic, while the new ones are  Forged Copper, Gun Metallic, and Magnetic Black. Also the Crew Cab SV model gets a new moonroof available.

The interior of the 2016 Nissan Frontier has the same traditional and classic characteristics as the outside of the car has. But keeping the interior classic does not work as well as doing the same with the outside. The car is going to retain a bulky three-spoke steering wheel,  clunky shifter and a small navigation screen as well. But the interior is still a highly functional one and does offer a great setting for the driver. Based on the trim level, there are six material and color choices offered here which the buyers can choose from once they make their choice on the car.

The King Can setup actually ahs the wrote back seat setup than any of the offered vehicle here. This model still uses the old-school fold-down seats which do not offer any support whatsoever and the passengers in the back are going to feel cramped. On the other hand the Crew Cab has a much improved seating arrangement. It is still smaller compared to the Tacoma or the Colorado versions but the improvements are there.

2016 Nissan Frontier engine

There are going to be two engine options available for the 2016 Nissan Frontier. The base one is the 2.5-liter four-cylinder  which is also restricted to the King Cab only and makes 152 horsepower and 171 pound-feet of torque. For those who want more power they can get a 4.0-liter V-6 engine that makes 261 horsepower and a class-leading torque output of 281 pound-feet. Some good news is that both engines can be had with either a manual or automatic transmission in either cab configuration.  The 4-cylidner inside the King Cab combines with a five-speed manual while the V-6 has  a six-speed manual in the Crew Cab. The automatic version is only available as a five-speed unit.

Price and release date

The newest 2016 Nissan Frontier is already set to make its debut this June. The release date has already been set and we are just expecting it to hit the market and see how will it fare. The starting price for the base version is $18,090 but it may climb up to $31,880 for the upper most trim.

2017 Nissan Quest

The newly offered 2017 Nissan Quest has been announced for a return. This is going to be a revamped car of the current fourth -generation model which has been around since 2011. So bear in mind that we are still not getting a new generation minivan Quest model as they are refreshing the car a bit and trying to breath in some new life in the car.

The current Nissan Quest was known for having perhaps the best road manners out of all minivan models in the market. But the car actually lacked some key elements when it came to minivan models. There was not ample space inside the car and it also did not have the top safety specs which are necessary for a SUV or a minivan model. The car did not met expectations based on these two faults and although the updated is going to address some issues we can only hope for those to be completely eradicated with the next generation-model.

The looks of the 2017 Nissan Quest are actually something really unique. With its upright stance and design the car poses a really aggressive looking design. Faired liens in the front and straight edges are what characterizes the design of the Quest. This is something that people are going to look forward when buying the Quest, but at the same time it will not be as attractive to some that are looking for a people hauling vehicle.

In terms of power the car brings enough and is one of its prime characteristics as well. Take a look at just what the latest 2017 Nissan Quest is going to bring to us and besides the added pictures read carefully through the review.

Exterior Updates for the 2017 Nissan Quest

With the updated exterior for the 2017 Nissan Quest you will notice that there are some unique additions made for this version. In fact, every version before this had something new and unique to it. Nissan Quest made it a habit of surprising their audiences with such changes and additions when it came to their exterior design. This time the car goes back to its Japanese design roots as it makes it a bit more boxy and upright than it was before. If you look at its profile, you will notice a faint resemblance to the Ford Flex model but it actually poses its own unique set of characteristics.

Comparing the Quest to some of the competing vehicles which have added more curves to their design, the Quest has more appeal to it and brings us an interesting new take. The nose is positioned lower and actually looks a lot smaller when compared to the previous model. This is done partly due to the addition of new air inlets placed on the front. The rear end has also been reshaped and is made for much better aerodynamics and also adds large taillights and sets the new Quest apart from all the rivaling cars in the segment that way.

Interior Updated and Changes

The interior design of the 2017 Nissan Quest actually keeps more to its passenger-friendly design and adopts a utilitarian there which is what is expected from a minivan. Taking a more of a traditional approach for the inside compared to the outside is the direction that Nissan is taking the interior of the Quest minivan, and it is one of the better points of the car. It has a modern-retro Japanese design and also adopts all the necessary features as well.

The car uses a plain LCD display and a rectangular theme as well. There is a mixture of wood and shiny grey plastic inside as well and is what comprises the majority of the interior. It may look a bit unfinished from some angels but at the same time it makes the Quest upscale compared to the competition.

On the top you will see some added controls like the Nissan parks an LCD screen. The mid-level models offer a 5.0-inch LCD while the top ones have a 8.0 inches and incorporates more audio and navigation controls.  Below the screen of every trim there are some piano key style buttons added which are a little bit inconvenient to use.

Powertrain Options

There are no innovations as far as the powertrain for the 2017 Nissan Quest is concerned. The car is going to continue to use the same  3.5-liter 260-hp 6-cylinder engine which has been used before. This leaves all the possible engine changes for the next generation model which will perhaps address this matter more. For now there has been no need to change the engine as it was the best part of the car and always brought a steady output and a great offer when it comes to driving. The car makes 260 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque and will be offered with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Also the model is going to return with EPA ratings which suggest 20 mpg city/27 highway/23 combined for its fuel consumption rates.

Release Date and Price

The model is getting an early release and we can see the 2017 Nissan Quest available for sale in the start of the year. The release date has been set for February and the model will start its sales for all of its respective markets at the same time. The car will also be available in all of the expected trim levels with the S being its base one and higher ones ranging from SV to SL and teh top rated Platinum trim.

The base price for the S trim is going to expand a little bit compared to the previous version and will be offered at around  $27,000. The SV versions come at around  $30,000m while  the SL are priced around  $34,000, while the top of the range Platinum is going to be priced  $43,000.
