2016 Ferrari 488 GTB

2016 Ferrari 488 GTB Release Date, Price, Engine – Ferrari is scheduled to unleash a refresh of the 458 Italia popularly known as the GTB. The vehicle is set to make a debut in the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. The big news, however, will be the vehicle use of Italia’s naturally aspirated 4.5L V8 engine, which will be traded for the 3.9L V8 twin-turbocharged engine.

More details about the engine specs will be discussed below. On the visual front, the vehicle will feature a more aerodynamic front fascia that will be characterised by a large three part air dam, new headlights and twin air vents that come integrated into the hood.

As for the interior overview, the changes will be minor and will be largely limited to new switches, redesigned seats and an improved infotainment system. More details about the visual enhancements will follow later.

Generally, there has been lots of commotion around Ferrari’s decision to turbocharge the California, and it is the main reason why the company departed from Ferrari’s naturally aspirated leanings.

Exterior – 2016 Ferrari 488 GTB

It is no longer a secret that the new 488 GTB will be coming to replace the 458 Italia vehicle and is conspicuously visible in every angle, despite the company redesigning most of the styling cues of its entry level supercar.

It is quite obvious why the designers would want to keep the headlamps, bumper, overall shape of the fenders, and the hood. The designers would do so maybe to keep the 458 flame alive. However, there are rumours that suggests the 488 designers might work on some of them though the details of that are highly classified.

Making the brand new 488 GTB unique are the bumper’s mid-section that comes incorporated with a pair of vertical struts that compare similarly to joining the front wing of the F 1 to its body.

The side view of the vehicle makes me reminisce about the 458, from which the new vehicle borrows the sculpted shoulders, side skirts, and the beefy front fenders. The 488 comes with unique features nonetheless, these features include the large air intake and the triangular carving on the door’s handle.

Styling aside, the new vehicle sets the benchmark in terms of a well-designed aerodynamic efficiency, thanks to its 1.67 drag coefficient. Another interesting thing is the downward force which has increased by up to 50% in comparison to the previous model.

Interior – Ferrari 488 GTB 2016

Similar to the 458, the new vehicle’s interior has been designed around the driver, and has mixed sportiness and luxury in appropriate proportions. In overall, changes to its interior are far from being dramatic, with the new vehicle already featuring the already known features which include the angled air vents, control clusters, three-spoke steering wheel.

In spite of the already familiar features in the interior, the dashboard feels a little bit refined especially from the two-tone, black over red interior layout. Despite the 488 borrowing heavily from the 458, there are several unique features that the 488 GTB features which include the centre console, which now features a cleaner, simpler, and with minimised buttons to distract the driver from the main task.

Engine – 2016 Ferrari 488 GTB

Engine wise, under the hood of the new 2016 Ferrari 488 GTB will be a new powerplant. A new engine will now replace the award winning, naturally aspirated 4.5L V8. The new powerplant will now be the 3.9L 8-cylinder with forced induction.

The new engine has been rumoured ever since 2014, the new mill is probably related to California’s T’s 3.8L that is capable of cranking out about 660 hp @8,000 rpm and 560 pounds of torque.

With the new engine, the output figures will increase by about 66 hp and 162 pounds of torque over the 458 model. This output figures will definitely be the best performance specs ever seen from a Ferrari’s entry-level supercar.

The most important feat will be the Fiorano lap time which has been recorded as 1:23 minutes. With this benchmark, the new 488 will undoubtedly make the vehicle the second fastest on the companies records.

However, it’s not just the mill that makes that 488 shine on the track. The updated gearbox that comes with a variable torque management and a refreshed gear ratio contributes to the success as well.

Price & Release Date of the New 2016 Ferrari 488 GTB

The pricing and release date details have not been shared by the company, however if I was to be asked the price of the sporty vehicle, I’d say you should expect a price tag that will below the $300,000 mark.

We should expect the new 2016 Ferrari 488 GTB to hit showrooms before the end of the year.

2016 Ferrari California T

2016 Ferrari California T Release Date, Price, Review, Specs – Of recent it was made public that a 2016 Ferrari California T vehicle is on its way on being releasing. Ferrari has confirmed this news and the car is due for sale of next year when you will have it available for purchase. This is a brand which continues on the success of the Ferrari California model that came as its predecessor.

The new 2016 Ferrari California T is a successor of Ferrari California which was issued back in 2009. But this model actually goes a bit further into Ferrari’s past as the idea for creating it was spawned due to the older California models that were produced in the 50s and 60s. The name does not only make this vehicle popular in the US state of California of course as only a third of the produced output ends up there. The other two thirds are equally divided and sent to Europe and Asia.

Ferrari had an idea to turbocharge the majority of its line that sports a V-8 engine. The Californian model is the first one that receives such an update as it is the least expensive vehicle offered in its arsenal. Based on the popularity and the output of the Ferrari California T other cars will be upgraded to turbocharged engines as well. As you can see from the pictures, the California T model sports a trademark Ferrari look and by reading the rest of the review you will manage to find out all of its specs and features.

So with the idea to turbocharge its lineup, the California T model is the frist one that is going to go through this update. The 2016 Ferrari Californian T will use a  new 3.9 liter Ferrari bi-turbo V8 engine which includes variable boost management  that results in enabling different torque levels in different gears. It gives you a permanent feeling of constantly accelerating and it also manages to eliminate the turbo lag almost completely.

The new turbocharged version of the V-8 engine provides and output of 560hp and up to 755Nm of torque. This also makes for some excellent acceleration specs which measure at 3.6 seconds for reaching 0-100 km/h and 11.2 seconds to attain a speed of 200 km/h. The graded top speed of the car is set at 316 km/h. Compared to its preceding vehicle, the acceleration is slightly faster while the top speed remained almost the same. The weight is also the same but the overall power of the car has increased.

Exterior

Besides the change in the engine there are also some changes to the exterior design of the 2016 Ferrari California T that differentiates it from its ancestor. The most obvious additions are of course seen in the front part of the car where the car has included some F12 elements. This includes a significant upgrade in size of the air vents that are matted up front that are used for the brakes and the intercooler. At the back you will notice a new design of the exhaust system that features two exhaust pipes protruding at the back.

The side part of the car remains mostly intact. The style which was inspired by the Testa Rossa look is still there and remains intact. The back side is made to horizontally align the exhaust lines to the back portion of the car which is also a feature that has been carried over from the previous design. But the added triple fence diffuser uses the same design that is seen in the 599 GTO and proves to be a great new addition to this new look of the California T model. What has given the rear part of the car a more dominant stance are the huge taillights that are a very nice new addition to the vehicle’s redesign.

Interior

The inside of the Ferrari California T is very beautiful. In fact the 2016 design is perhaps the most beautiful an interior of a Ferrari car can get. It is in fact very roomy which is not a characteristic of an Italian vehicle but this one provides more space at the front and even at the back. All the exposed parts of the vehicle are covered with very fine leather while the seats are made to provide the most amount of comfort that they can possibly provide. The part which allows more space is the slim design of a center console which features the key switches for the gearbox, auto, reverse and launch control as well as the emergency indicators.

Just above the center console you will find the air conditioning switches. The controls allow you the use of two zones and are designed in a pretty straight forward sense. On the center stack is a touchscreen that allows you the use of many infotainment parts of the vehicle and the wonderfully designed button array provides you with quick use of it. The car also holds for the first time the Apple CarPlay app which works pretty well for the California T model. The test model car featured also a navigation system and a Digital radio and we are not sure whether this addition will make it to the production model still, but it would be nice to have it actually.

Price and release date

The car has been offered as a 2016 model that is going to be released next year. The exact release date of the 2016 Ferrari California T is not known still but somewhere between the first and middle part of the year is what everyone is presuming the release date would be. The price is a standard price for a Ferrari vehicle, so a base MSRP rating of 202,723 USD is not a surprising figure.

2016 Ferrari FF Coupe

2016 Ferrari FF Coupe Release Date, Price, Specs, Engine – Everyone can reminisce that the Ferrari FF was only launched four years ago at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show as the automobile’s first ever produced 4WD model. It was basically developed as a successor to the 612 Scaglietti.

The FF Coupe is somehow different from the grand tourer, and sports a shooting-brake-like posterior end instead of the conventional Ferrari’s traditional coupe styling. The vehicle borrows similar features from the 250 GT SWB Breadvan such as, the overall appearance, trunk capacity of up to 28 cubic feet and foldable rear seats.

With the aforesaid features, both the grand tourer and Ferrari have tried to achieve a rare feat that brings them nearer to the near-supercar performance figures. As for the Ferrari FF, a hatchback design and a powerful V12 engine paired to an AWD system makes the vehicle an exotic among the few exotics out there.

The FF in its fourth model year, is set to receive a much anticipated facelift that will further enhance its reputation as a one of a kind in the motoring scene. The following speculative review will delve right into the details that we think will be made available with the upcoming new Ferrari FF Coupe 2016.

Exterior Spy Shots- 2016 Ferrari FF Coupe

Our photographers spotted the FF making road tests in Europe and the photos suggests that the new FF Coupe will certainly make a debut adorning various updates. Though our trusty ‘All About Cars’ paparazzi managed to catch the juicy details of the facelifted FF from most angles, the photos we have aren’t very revealing, maybe due to the fact that the vehicle is basically the previous vehicle but with a slightly revised front bumper.

As a matter of fact, the front apron seems to me like someone smashed it with a hammer and then used an adhesive tape to assemble it back together, however, a deeper look reveals a completely redesigned FF Coupe.

At the front fascia, a discerning eye would clearly see that the bumper’s right side has a vertical gap, which is new add-on on the FF Coupe. Another new cool feature is the redesigned air intakes and the shorter centre grille.

At the back fascia, the overall look has remain conspicuously unchanged, except for the diffuser, which now sports a slightly redesigned shape. Notwithstanding, I’ve got a hunch that more novelties will showcase as the development progresses from a mere prototype to a production unit.

2016 Ferrari FF Coupe Interior Photos

Despite the lack of more information pertaining what to expect from the new vehicle, we don’t expect any significant changes inside its cabin. In fact, I’m pretty convinced that Maranello will leave most of the interior untouched.

However, there won’t lack any updates in the cabin, with the most promising ones being the introduction of new upholstery colours and hopefully additional leather options. Another feature worth an update would be the infotainment system and instrument cluster.

We will be updating more info on what to expect from the forthcoming new 2016 Ferrari FF Coupe interior soon. So keep checking for the updates in the coming weeks.

Engine Specs – Ferrari FF Coupe 2016

Under the hood of the new FF will be a host of new performance updates. Firstly, the 6.3L V12 will return with more power. Currently, the vehicle is rated at 660 hp and 503 pounds of torque, but with the new performance tweak, the vehicle will easily yield up to 700 hp and 530 pounds of feat, which will be just enough to keep its enthusiasts happy but not much to step into the world of F12berlinetta territory.

With the new power, the FF will easily sprint from 0-60 mph in less than 3 seconds, this might be perhaps 0.1 quicker than its predecessor and isn’t much of a significant change. The top speed of the vehicle will remain capped at 211 mph.

Despite the oomph, bigger news are expected from the 3.9L V8 engine which has been developed for the California T. Word has it that the turbocharged eight banger will brood a new standard model for the FF model, which will be aimed at markets often subjected to stricter emission laws.

The latter engine is capable of yielding around 560 hp in the California T and a staggering 659 hp in the 488 GTB. Also on the table are an 8-speed dual clutch transmission and an AWD system.

Price and Release Date of the New 2016 Ferrari FF Coupe

Expect the cost of the new FF to set you back by around $400,000, and will most probably hit showrooms somewhere next year.
