2017 Toyota Land Cruiser Review

The latest 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser has been announced and is received much acclaim with the early talks about the car. This time the Land Cruiser is going to take after Scion, Toyota’s younger brand, and come out only in one trim. This would make the Land Cruiser equipped with all the needed amenities immediately without you needing to go for a different trim if you want a particular part of equipment. Your soul choice is which color to pick.

The Land Cruiser was introduced by Toyota in 1957 and was largely praised for its off-road capabilities and maneuvering. Over the years, the Toyota Land Cruiser become a model which has been appreciated for its luxury upgrades as the car become a standout when talking about comfort. This is way the 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser is going to expand on the interior but will also add some additions and updates to the exterior as well.

But the aesthetic and comfort upgrades are not the only new thing for the Land Cruiser as we also get an update in the mechanical department. The engine might be a carryover, but the transmission system is new and the old one has been replaced. All in all, you will be able to find out the details come release date, but this then check out the review so you are informed in advance.

Exterior Redesign

The 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser actually manages to retain its macho looks while at the same time updating the exterior as well. With that, the front side of the car has gone through a change, namely the front fenders and the hood grille, but the rear tailgate also saw some changes being implemented.

The new three-bar grille has been designed in a way that it extends towards LED headlights, and adds some chrome surrounds as well. There are two power budges placed on the hood and the update is supposed to include more power to the look of the Land Cruiser that way. The Land Cruiser redesign also adds the new front fenders which still manage to third flat sides.

The rear end of the Land Cruiser adds a full-width chrome piece which extends into the LED taillights. This is actually the only visible update but some smaller ones are seen when taking a closer look. The roof rails are a standard addition as always, while the full-length side steps help while entering the car.

Inferior

The previous model can fittingly be described as posh, but the 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser takes a step further when redesigning this new model. The new appealing and aesthetic looks actually bring it on par with a Range Rover model. The inside is update with added color choices, so you do not have to use the all-black one and also has  Terra leather seats,  saddle brown floor and a wood trim with chrome accents.

The dashboard is rather similar to the current model, but does get an update as well. The new steering wheel looks great particularly as it has been accented by wood pieces while the tall center stack adds a 9-inch infotainment display which has the  Toyota’s latest Entune system. Below you will find a gated shifter with two main dials and several buttons. You can use the knob to control the Multi-terrain Select and Crawl Control, while the buttons are meant for traction control, center differential lock, and hill decent control.

The passengers in the rear seats can entertain themselves by using the 11.6-inch monitors matted on the inside. The only downfall for the redesigned version of the 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser is the shortage of air vents and not enough room in the third row. The second row has plentiful spacing, but good luck fitting three grown adults in the back.

Engine

The 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser engine choice falls down to the already familiar face which was used the last time. They have decided to use the same one but have updated it in the manner the Toyota Tundra has done, giving it the same kind of an output resulting in 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque. But the transmission is actually a brand new part of the powertrain. The close-ratio eight-speed automatic  is a welcomed addition for the redesign of the Toyota Land Cruiser as it improves the acceleration and fuel consumption as the same time. The EPA rating actually come to 13 mpg city, 18 mpg highway, and 15 mpg combined.
