The car adds upgraded suspensions and many other features that makes it a better model. But as this is being announced as a limited edition series there are only going to be 300 of them made with sales exclusively limited to Japan.
But what makes this special edition so special? There have already been a number of updates that were deemed extraordinary before and a lot of them had a great setup but this one makes its way by enhancing the 2.0-liter engine and giving us upgraded specs for the model.
The already stellar handling of the 2017 Subaru BRZ has been updated and enhanced which is archived by adding performance underpinnings and also allows specially tuned coils springs to be used as well. It adds dampers, big brakes and additional brakcing, resulting with better control and added convenience while driving.
The Subaru BRZ is already a perfect vehicle in many people’s eyes and there are many things which have already made it the enthusiast’s choice or the best driver’s vehicle which all of us appreciate as much as possible. Read the review and see what the update has added to build upon this premise.
The 2017 Subaru BRZ is actually very good looking for an entry-level two-door sports car. It may not win any beauty awards but it is good enough for the purpose it was built. It add some flared wheel arches, a sloped roofline that goes into the trunk and an overtly aggressive front fascia as well.
The special edition model manages to not change the appearance significantly and keeps to the basis mostly. The extra additions are actually subtle but very effective in its use and bring about a great design of the car and immediately bring you a sense of uniqueness about it.
The front end of the car features a new bumper design which does retain some of the lines from the old bumper but combines with matte-black STI-designed under spoiler and also adds a an exclusive cherry-red STI badge with LED lamps and a cherry-red air intake liner.
The back side also features a new and exclusive bumper which has an added cherry red inline above the matte-black diffuser and twin polished exhaust tips. The final cherry on top are the STI-designed multi-spoke 18-inch wheels, made from aluminum and featuring black with more cherry-red badging on the center caps. The available body colors include Sunrise Yellow, WR Blue Pearl, Crystal White Pearl and Crystal Black Silica.
The interior of the 2017 Subaru BRZ has almost the same kind of a treatment done to it as it was done to the exterior. Immediately when entering inside you will see the exclusive side-sill plates adorned with the STI badging. The door has black Alcantara with contrasting red stitching on the armrest and the shoulders are done with black Alcantara with black stitching. There are some heavily bolstered Recaro seats that have adjustable backs and slots for racing harnesses. The seats are upholstered with black leather and black Alcantara with red stitching and red side accents.
The steering is also updated and has the same kind of treatment with leather and red stitching, as well as STI-designed leather-lapped gear knob. In the gauge cluster is an exclusive speedometer that combines with carbon-tone instrument panels and limited-edition badging. The instrument panel also has insulators on the panel, trunk trim and door.
The 2017 Subaru BRZ has also been updated with a great choice for an engine. The powerplant is a 2.0-liter boxer flat-four engine which makes 200 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque and combines with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. But the most important thing that enhances the performance of the car is not solely owed to the engine and the power it outputs, it is also deserving suspension and chassis tuning which has been done. The result was a lively car which offers great performance and handling features.
