The 2017 Chevy Camaro is making a comeback for the next season as well. It has been only five years since the Camaro brand has gotten back and we can’t still get enough of it. They have already made plans to make a redesigned version that is going to substitute the current one and continue on the legacy that the vehicle already presented. This has been made possible with the development of the sixth generation Mustang which is already on its way leading us to the newest Camaro version being released next year.
The newest vehicle is going to feature a significant upgrade that will make it a very different car from before. First of all the design is going to be changed making the vehicle fresh. Also there are some additional tweaks under the hood which will enhance the performance. The Camaro will for the first time be using four-cylinder engine, meaning that the Dodge Challenger is going to be the only muscle car left without a 4-cylinder option. The car is also going to be much lighter and nimble leaving it with a lot of room to gain additional specs.
The 2017 Chevy Camaro is going to face a fierce competition as always. Its main rival the Mustang vehicle is already getting ready for the new season and being that the 5th-gen Camaro and the ones before it have already taken victories over their competitors it seems that the new 6th-gen might pull one as well. Let’s just wait and see how things get to play out. Till then read all the news about the newest 2017 Chevy Camaro vehicle right here in this review.
2017 Chevy Camaro exterior
The 2017 Chevy Camaro remains essentially the same kind of a car as it was before. We do not notice any significant changes which might make the car extraordinary different than any other version before it. Yet the car looks much fresher and better designed making it an upgraded choice compared to the previous one. Doing a better job with the details and making a bit different structuring makes the car a new one and it starts with a change in size. The vehicle has a shorter wheelbase making its length an inch shorter than before. This actually makes the exterior look of the Camaro more like a sport coupe than anything else.
Viewing its style, it’s a Camaro through-in and through-out. You immediately notice the legendary line of a Camaro vehicle that Chevy has instilled in it for over years of making. Up front a similar kind if grille is showcased with mild changes that included the position of the said grille and the headlamps which have changed in shape and size. There is a new patter of LEDs added to the headlamps as it adds circles beneath the main light bulb and into the turn signals. All models of the new Camaro will feature horizontal chrome strips between the “bowtie” emblem and the headlamps.
The interior of the 2017 Chevy Camaro has also stayed true to the Chevrolet language style and remained a Camaro it its heart. People loyal to the brand will appreciate this and perhaps like it very much as the instrument panel has remained virtually unchanged with some chrome surrounds for the analog gauges added as new. But if you are feeling a bit modern for that and would like to have a contemporary design, there is an option for all those new Cmarao lovers. You can replace the existing one with an eight-inch, configurable HD screen that gives you information about performance, navigation, and infotainment features. There is another eight-inch screen in the center of the dashboard which is used as an interface for the upgraded MyLink system.
Most of the buttons for the vehicle are positioned just below the screen where the heating and cooling controls are integrated into the rings surrounding the air ducts. This actually enables the front section of the vehicle to feel much more spacious and comfortable, giving you a lot of room to maneuver and feel comfortable. The electronic parking brake was substituted with the mechanical brake handle which made the repositioning of the cup holders necessary to fit this kind of a change. The list of optional features is pretty long as well as it includes a segment-first LED ambient lighting system as it comes with a theatrical “car show” mode that cycles randomly through the entire color spectrum when the car is parked.
The biggest change is of course seen under the hood of the car. The 2017 Chevy Camaro is going to change to a completely new 4-cylidner engine for the first time. This is the biggest news that concerns the Camaro vehicle which will make a lot of noise among the existing fan base. The engine in question is the 2.0-liter turbo-four engine which is going to produce 275 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. This makes the 0-60 mph performance available in 5.4 seconds with a manual transmission and 5.5 ticks with an automatic.
The next option is the 3.6-liter V-6 engine that produces 335 horsepower and 284 pound-feet of torque. This engine gets a very high boost with its specs and also reduces weight by 294 pounds. The -0-60 mph ability is achieved in in 5.2 seconds with the manual and 5.1 ticks with the automatic. Finally the SS version of the Camaro uses a 6.2-liter V-8 engine. The performance states 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque and the ability to reach 60 mph in 4.3 seconds. All the mentioned engines will use either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
Price and release date
The 2017 Chevy Camaro starts its pricing with a tag of $26,695. If you want to get the SS version than a price of $37,295 is more appropriate. The new Camaro has already been announced available for November this year as the release date has been set in advance. The shipping to local dealers will start promptly during the year.
