2017 Hyundai Azera Review

2017 Hyundai Azera

With the release of the 2017 Hyundai Azera, the Korean automaker attempts to rival newly released models such as Chevy Impala, Ford Taurus and Toyota Avalon. The same way as those vehicles have been updated the Azera will feature a whole new look and some style changes which are going to make it a new and contemporary looking car. Not only that, as we also get a multitude of new technological features within the update.

The latest Hyundai Azera is generally speaking a valiant effort from the carmaker as it manages to hold a position somewhere a half step down from luxury line. The Azera is a fitting car for the mass car market and is going to be fit for many people of different taste but also suitable for people who are looking for a dashing design and have similar taste as well.

The 2017 Azera is a part of the newest Hyundai lineup which is making its debut this year and has been released in a similar matter. The new and sleekly kind of a style is perhaps only exceeded by the Genesis model which is also making its mark on the market and being released soon as well. The new heavily sculptured and dynamic look is a bit part of the new design language and it is going to certainly be the main selling point of the brand. Keep reading the review and see what the latest 2017 Hyundai Azera brings.

Exterior

The 2017 Hyundai Azera used is one of the most attractive and expensive-looking models coming out of the Korean automaker’s lineup. It used to be one of the least expensive models that they have produced but with the changes of time and refocusing the brand has taken a full lxuruy turn. The model’s looks have been inspired by the company’s new design language, dubbed the “Fluidic Sculpture” theme, which made its first appearance on the Sonata model. It comes with two distinctive side creases in the sheetmetal, as one of them starts from behind the headlamps and it goes atop the fender and follows down to the back door, and the other starts just ahead of the rear door handle and goes upward as it ascends down to form a decklid crease around the back.

The front end has been highly updated as it adds more angular lines and sift creases and forms a really new looking and softly designed nose. The Limited version of the car features LED fog lamps and the grille has also been reshaped as well and has a rectangular shape with a gentle arc at its bottom side. Generally speaking it makes the car seem much more expensive and premium looking without really enhancing the price that much. The model adds a brand new appearance but still manages to keep the costs to a competitive figure.

Interior

The interior update of the 2017 Hyundai Azera is equally appreciated. The model fits in a luxury package inside as well and manages to keep a very appropriate looking design together by combining various elements. It has a very distinctive looking design and gives us a two-tier layout styling. By combining a lighter-tone lower tier with a darker upper that matches the upholstery, we get a perfect combination fitting for any premium looking and luxury car. The cockpit has a lot of  soft-touch and matte surfaces  and it is pretty tastefully design with a lot of brightwork kept to a minimum. If you add the Tech Package you get some ambient lighting positioned under the top tier of dash and door trim.

The combination of size, available amenities and comfort brings everything along together to form this very good offer. The amenities are particularly great as the 2017 Hyundai Azera has air conditioning, cruise control, AM/FM audio system with Bluetooth audio streaming and six speakers. In the base level you will get  power front seats, leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats,  keyless ignition, a hands-free trunk opener, an 8.0-inch touchscreen display and navigation.

Engine

The 2017 Hyundai Azera is actually just one step larger than the Sonata sedan and like that has one major difference which separates it from other models in the lineup and it actually has to do with the V-6 engine that it uses. The model is equipped with a 3.3-liter V-6 and is the only engine option that the Azera comes with. In our opinion it does not have to have any other ones as this is enough to keep the model afloat, and it also produces 293 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque.

Release date and price

The 2017 Hyundai Azera is going to get its release date in its home of Korea and other respective Asian markets before it makes its way to the US. The US release date is expected for next year at around March. The model is going to be pricier than before but not as much as you would assume by the look of the car. The starting price is 34,100 USD.
