2016 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque exterior
The newest 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is going to carry over its basic exterior design cues that we have learned and loved for the better part of its existence. But there are going to be a few tweaks incorporated into the mix as the car is going be given a few updates making it fresh and pretty for the new model year. One of the more prominent features is the reshaped headlights at the front of the car which add a distinctive LED daytime running light signature. The front side also adds larger air intakes, a new front bumper and slimline LED fog lights. The grille has also been refreshed as it adds a design which has horizontal bars and a new fine-mesh pattern that is seen on all of the standard models. The Dynamic trim will in turn offer a hexagonal grille design and more prominent mesh insert.
There are some special kinds of additions matted on the different trim levels as well so the HSE Dynamic and Autobiography models include new hood vents which were only used for he coupe versions before. The back side adds a new tailgate spoiler with a new set of LED taillights with revised graphics. There is an easy-to-open Gesture Tailgate fixed in the back which allows you to open it by sticking and using your foot to pop it out. Finally, there are also going to be three new exterior colors as well which join the already present ones from before.
The changes are more than noticeable on the inside of the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. Yet, the changes on the inside are far more subtle. They include revised seats and door casings with the newly added InControl infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen that is mated on a revised instrument panel which adds some soft touch materials and new colors choices. The standard choice on the base models are leather ebony seats with eight-way power adjustment. Higher model trims will get 14-way power adjustment seats, with massage features placed inside the seats and far higher and far better materials used for the seats.
Optionally available are an SD-card-based navigation system, rear-seat entertainment with two 8-inch screens, a satellite-based system and 11- or 17-speaker audio systems. Viewing at it all, the introduced changes in no means make the inside of the vehicle revolutionary, but are a nice a needed addition to the 2016 model. The Evoque will still be competitive in the market with the introduced changes and as the car already had a great cabin to begin with it will just continue the great setup the vehicle has got going for it.
As we mentioned, the initial showcasing of the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque teased a completely new engine setup for the new year model. But it turned out in the end that these engine changes are only going to happen for the markets away from the US, which leaves the US models with the same engines that they had from before. So the Evoque will continue with the same 2.0-liter engine that delivers 240 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque. The powertrain combines with a nine-speed auto transmission system which enables a 0-60 mph performance of 7.1 seconds and a top speed of 135 mph.
The new lineup of engines are going to be featured only for the European models which include two TD4 diesel engines. One is good for 150 PS and the other is fixed at 180 PS and results in a 20 to 30 kg less than the last diesel engines for the new Evoque vehicles.
