2016 Toyota RAV4 Release Date, Review, Price, Specs – The Japanese manufacturer is yet again offering its customers another version of the RAV4 model which has already been produced for four generations already. The upcoming new 2016 Toyota RAV4 will come with improved redesigned specs, aggressive general look and satisfactory performance figures.
The Toyota Motor Company, which is arguably one of the largest auto companies in the world, has for the past five years tried to transform its cars by producing vehicles with a sportier look and this seems to have inspired the designing of the new 2016 Toyota RAV4.
As it stands out currently, the RAV4 is one of the most sensible SUV’s out there that offers good cargo and passenger cargo, and a decent off-road performance that is the envy of most of its competitors.
We expect that the new 2016 Toyota RAV4 will come riding on a new modular platform that will consequently make it the talk of town for a very long period of time. Some changes are expected, but we expect the Japanese manufacturer to continue with the same high performance spree even on its new RAV4.
2016 Toyota RAV4 specs
The new 2016 Toyota RAV4 will come with some refreshments for the 2016 model year as evidenced by the following reviews. As Toyotas best-selling crossovers, the automaker is hoping to add some premium tweaks and safety technology as well.
There will be another trim version that will be added to the existing ones, it will be the SE trim version which is expected to come with all the sporty refinements. It will also feature a revised suspension system that is intended to provide the vehicle with a more aerodynamic driving experience.
Pictures reveal that the design cues will include seats with contrast stitching, 18” alloy wheels, a sportier grille and bumper, new paddle shifters and distinctive gunmetal interior surfaces.
A new feature that will be made available for the first time will be the Bird’s Eye View. This system will make use of four cameras that will give a panoramic view of the car’s surrounding.
Another feature will be known as the Perimeter Scan feature that will give a 360 degree view that will come handy during packing the vehicle. Another advanced safety feature will be the Toyota Safety Sense that will come standard on the Limited models.
Other features will include; pre collision warning, lane departure warning, radar cruise control and pedestrian collision warning.
2016 Toyota RAV4 exterior
The 2013 RAV4 crossover came with some major updates and therefore we don’t expect the new 2016 Toyota RAV4 to come with so many updates. The base version of the RAV4 will come fitted with 17” alloy wheels, new bumper, LED technology headlights and taillights and redesigned fog lights.
Also, it will most likely come with a power tailgate that will it easier for anyone wishing to use the cargo area. The base model will offer its would-be buyers an infotainment system with AUX and USB inputs, six-speaker audio system with a CD player and a 6.1” touchscreen.
Those who will dare to buy the upper trim versions of this new 2016 Toyota RAV4 will get some of the following features which will include a dual zone climate control feature, keyless start with start button, power moonroof, navigation system, blind spot detection system, 11 speaker JBL premium audio system and rear cross traffic alert system.
2016 Toyota RAV4 engine
Under the bonnet of the new 2016 Toyota RAV4 will be two engines which will be provided to potential users of the vehicle. There will be one new and one old engine beneath its hood. The first engine will be a gasoline engine which currently powers the current RAV4.
It is a 2.5L four cylinder engine that generates up to 176 hp and 172 pounds of torque. The novelty engine will be a hybrid one presently used in the Camry. The new 2016 Toyota RAV4 hybrid specs will include a powertrain that will be made from a combination of 2.5L petrol engine and that of an electric motor.
The petrol engine in itself will provide 156 hp and 156 pounds of torque while the electric motor delivers 141 hp and 199 pounds of torque. Whilst combined, both engines provided an output of around 200 hp to the FWD system.
Behind the seats, the compact crossover SUV will come fitted with a nickel-metal-hydride battery pack.
2016 Toyota RAV4 price and release date
Both the release date and pricing of the new 2016 Toyota RAV4 is unknown. However, if our predictions serve us right, then we should look forward to a possible release date of mid this year. The 2016 Toyota RAV4 hybrid release date will also run concurrently with the other versions.
And considering the changes to be effected on the new 2016 Toyota RAV4 will be slight, then we expect the base RAV4 2016 to be provided with a price tag of around 25,000 USD.
