2016 Renault Kadjar Release Date, Price, Engine, Specs – The automaker has shown off its brand new Kadjar Sports Utility Vehicle for the first time, and has confirmed that the all-new crossover will slot into the SUV line-up between the larger Koleos and its imminent Captur small SUV.
The new Kadjar measures only 15mm narrower, 90mm lower and 70mm shorter than the Koleos, which is the new add-on to Renault’s SUV line-up, but marginally smaller to its bigger sibling. In spite of the updates that the vehicle will host, the vehicle downright shares its many futuristic styling features with the Renault Captur, which was launched in Australia a few months ago.
The new vehicle will undoubtedly showcase French design ingenuity, as the car threatens to become one of the best cars ever made for the European market thanks to the superior features and superb performance. This will be a major feat considering that the car was only launched during this year’s Geneva Motor Show.
Exterior Photos – Renault Kadjar 2016
The exterior layout is a sophisticated one, it is sleek and compact. A discerning eye will immediately notice that the vehicle has borrowed some styling cues from its sibling, which isn’t a bad thing at all.
The front fascia will resemble much from the funkier looking Captur. Both models adorn a sporting activity and come with a version of diamond badge and same headlights. However, different from the Captur, the Kadjar will come with LED technology in the daytime running lights and will be shaped in form of a ‘C’.
That’s not all, the exterior proportions will be inspired by the Qashqai, but most of the design elements will derive their inspiration from the Captur as already observed. Around the back, the taillights will come designed as the latest generation of the Clio.
Another thing to note is that the vehicle doesn’t come with mirror based turn signals, yet it has an authoritative stance emanating from the widened wheel arches and posterior shoulders. So yes, the vehicle has borrowed many design elements not just from other Renault vehicles but also from other automakers like Nissan, but it isn’t a bad thing, is it?
2016 Renault Kadjar Interior Design
Dissimilar to the exterior design, which includes a rather sensuous layout motifs, the vehicle’s interior design is more underrated, however the designers ensured that it more than made up for its modularity.
Interesting designs include the ability of the rear seats to fold through 60/40 thus enabling more cargo volume, while the anterior traveller seat can transform itself into a table shaped design.
Renault’s design capability has clearly been manifested through the design flexibility which has been viewed in its current crossover. The luggage compartment can now be set in three different methods in order to save on space especially for larger families while the vehicle can also feature storage spaces that are spread in its interior.
The centre console features user-friendly features which include a seven-inch capacitive display screen and will be mated to the Renault R-Link 2 infotainment system which was previewed in the brand new Espace MPV.
Engine – 2016 Renault Kadjar
The new 2016 Renault Kadjar will be built using the Common Modular Family platform (Renault- Nissan Alliance) that underpins the X-Trail and Nissan Qashqai Sports Utility Vehicles and Renault’s Espace people mover that was already unleashed during last year’s Paris Motor Show.
Given the vehicles that the upcoming car has been related to, the most probable engines under its hood will be gasoline powerplants. The most likely engine will be the 2L and 2.5L units which are already in use in the X-Trail, and also the 96 kW 1.6L diesel engine.
Judging from the images already released to the public, the vehicle will most probably be offered with a Euro-friendly 6-speed manual gearbox, there are no details of an auto transmission system but it cannot be overruled.
The vehicle will also make a name for itself in the safety department. some of the features that will make up for the safety of its passengers will include the driver assistance technology that include lane departure warning, rear view camera, lane departure warning, road sign recognition, Pure Vision technology in the LED headlights which will also be about 20% more powerful than the incandescent technology.
Price & Release Date of the New Renault Kadjar 2016
At this point in time, the Kadjar hasn’t gotten the nod to enter into production. However, considering that the automobile company doesn’t have a similar kind of model, then the probability of the vehicle making a debut in the auto market is very likely.
Expect the base price of the vehicle to start at around $24,000, while the release date should be around the first quarter of next year.
