As latest news, there is a new vehicle in the making called the 2016 Infiniti Q60 car. It was already announced as a concept but it appears that a fully working production model is set to be offered and released next year. This is an attempt to rival the BMW production company which has been taking over the market with their 4 Series automobiles. The Q60 is going to be a luxury coupe that will certainly rival the mentioned cars from the German automaker.
The concept of the Infiniti Q60 car has been released this year at the Detroit Auto Show. It showcased a great car but a near production ready car already. This leads us to believe that a production vehicle is closer than anyone thinks and there is a good chance that we are going to see it next year. On first glance it is more than noticeable that the new model is mostly based on the Q50 vehicle which will transfer some of its design cues and details to the new car.
There are not many news about the powertrain but it is more than apparent that the car may transfer the engine from the Q50 as well. This also includes making a hybrid option available as well and coming out with a fuel conscientious option also. This review will help you find out all the known facts about this car and give you the known specs. You can also get a better view on the release date and see all the exclusive pictures on how the new 2016 Infiniti Q60 might actually look.
2016 Infiniti Q60 exterior
We are currently working with the recently released pictures which show us how the exterior design of the 2016 Infiniti Q60 might look. Based on the available photos we can see that the vehicle has gotten a bit aggressive compared to the previous car that it was based on. But there is a lot of the design language there that Infiniti uses for their current cars, making it a contemporary and a luxury vehicle as well. The most noticeable things compared to the Q50 model is that the aprons at the front have been removed. The grille is not as big as it was before and the headlamps have also been shrunk. There are more production friendlier pieces incorporated on the car which gives it a sportier appearance now.
The waistline is also dropped and is now moved from being right beneath the windows to the line in front of the wheel arches. The shoulders of the vehicle are now less masculine and the rear fascia will also be toned down a bit as well. The slim apron and taillights have also been removed and receive blander versions this time. The spoiler at the back will be kept but there is a big chance that it gets remodeled and changed this time. This design, as it already incorporates bits and pieces of the Infiniti design style, will be a benchmark for the future models to come that are going to be released from this automaker brand.
There are less official information available about the inside of the 2016 Infiniti Q60. If we take a look at the cabin that was showcased at the Detroit Auto Show and how have they initially design the interior of the concept model, it all looks completely doable and possible. The vehicle’s inside appearance can be completely transferred from the concept model as it looks clean, functional and completely ready to be used for a real car. There are bound to be some changes of course and we assume that some carbon-fiber inserts may look good for the car and are perhaps going to be a detail that will make the inside be sportier and fit it with the exterior look.
They are certainly going to give a lot of attention to detail here and it may be that a lot of interesting gadgets are going to make it on the inside. But in fact, something that is perhaps without a doubt possible is that the control layout is going to change. Being that the concept model has borrowed a lot from the Q80 vehicle from Infiniti it is bound to change for the production model. Infiniti is not going to share lightly the design of its flagship model and will try to keep it unique. This leaves a lot of room for some innovative design cues that are going to be incorporated here in the final product.
Given the current Infiniti strategy and the competition that it is up against here, there is a lot of sense when assuming which engine the 2016 Infiniti Q60 will be using. The 3.7-liter V-6 is an obvious choice here as it produces 330 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. The production levels may even change and we might expect the engine to be tweaked up a bit giving it more power and passing the BMW 435i model in that area.
It is still not confirmed if the Q60 is going to have a hybrid powertrain option here. It actually makes a lot of sense that a hybrid version should exist but nothing has been confirmed as of yet. If it does become a reality there is a good possibility that the 3.5-liter V-6 will combine with an electric engine option. It will give it a better and much more fuel efficient rating and also provide you with less trips to the gas station like this.
Price and release date
The release date is the real mystery here as there is no official announcement in the making yet for the 2016 Infiniti Q60. Given the fact that the concept was almost a done deal and that there are not many things that need to be reworked or added the 2016 release is not an impossible one. The release date may appear for the later part of next year as is our assumption. As the 2016 Infiniti Q60 is going to be upgraded compared to its Q50 counterpart, there is a good chance that the price is also going to be upgraded as well. This leaves us with a figure of $42,000.
