2016 Cadillac SRX Release Date, MSRP Price, Pictures, Review, Specs – The new 2016 Cadillac SRX for the 2016 model year provides smooth looks combined with a smooth and excellent ride that comes with great performance features. An updated look which is more apparent on the inside which is boosted with some new technology, particularly touch screen displays and some innovated features. The car comes to you at a release date that will be scheduled for the beginning of next year.
The new SRX from Cadillac is a GM five seat luxury crossover SUV vehicle. The vehicle’s counterpart is actually the truck-like Escalade vehicle, but it has almost no resemblance with this car whatsoever. As the Escalade has some good towing capacity and the ability to carry and handle greater loads, the SRX specialty is hauling people from point A to point B in all weather conditions and in an excellent manner.
Unfortunately, the SRX does not have many updates on the outside as it mainly carries over much of the exterior details from last year, but there is news about a significant update that is due for 2017 model year. For now you can check out the pictures of the car and enjoy the review of its interior and powertrain and check out the initial specs at which the car comes by.
2016 Cadillac SRX interior
The inside of the new 2016 Cadillac SRX has been updated to match the contemporary technological levels. The greatest attention is attracted with the new touchscreen technology with which the car has been updated with. Other surfaces may in fact feel a bit muted but it is all done in good majeure to provide the added technology in the greatest light possible.
The highest and most useful parts of the inside are the CUE interface and the large capacitive touchscreen. There are other gadgets that have been included like the proximity sensing and slider controls. The instrument panel also gets some hand-cut-and-sewn coverings and with the combination of the perfect ambient lighting on the inside of the cabin, you get a near perfect atmosphere for the inside of the car. The interior is best described by being technologically savvy but good looking as well.
The design of the new Cadillac SRX actually does a great job in masking the conventional two box crossover SUV body style. This is being done with a lot of sculpturing, added crests and perfect angles which updated the vehicle in a greater sense. The thing that enables the SRX to jump off the radar in terms of style and compared to its rivals is that this car has a more chiseled look than many of its rivals. The headlights are vertically stacked while the grill has been updated as well with a brightly chromed look. The front is relatively short while there are some big overhangs added to the rear. This all results with a powerful shape without any of the standard SUV cues.
The overall design of the car is more aerodynamic which does not only provide better driving performance, but it gives a fresh new look to the vehicle. What adds to the sleekness of the vehicle and provides some extended lines to it is the added spoiler to the roof, which also adds to its aerodynamic style and ability. The only downfall is the exposed rear wiper which might be regarded as a styling miscue by being added to a luxury vehicle. Everything else is virtually a direct hit. There are also some different trims available which add special features to the car, as there are the Luxury Collection, Performance Collection and Premium Collection models provided as well.
As far as the engine setup for the Cadillac SRX version for the 2016 model year is concerned, there is only going to be one engine option available. But except one engine option, you do get to pick between the front-wheel and all-wheel drive as well. Under the hood you will find a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that provides 308-horsepower and is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is achieved at 7 seconds flat, but it actually does not make the SRX as light as it seems. It is due to the tall gearing of the transmission but it also provides 4,500-pound of curb weight.
Price and release date
