2016 Ford Mustang GT350

2016 Ford Mustang GT350 Release Date, Specs, Colors, MSRP Price – The newest and improved Ford Mustang GT350 vehicle is scheduled to appear on the market next year. With the announcement of the continuation of this legendary brand the fans are most excited to find out what Ford managed to cook up into its new GT350 vehicle and what improvements are in stored for us this time. It is meant to rival the present Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, so the race is on and is scheduled for the upcoming model year for both.

The original Ford Mustang GT350 appeared back in 1965 for the first time. It was a nice update compared to a regular Mustang vehicle as the GT350 version was more powerful and lighter on its feet, provided race ready performance features even then. The forthcoming models only enhanced the power and provided cosmetic changes to the car and managed to continue the legend from there. But with the passage of time the Mustang GT350 has disappeared until 2011 when the brand returned for the fifth generation vehicle. The sixth generation is the current version and was released the previous year, so the 2016 model is going to be continuation of the sixth generation model which continues where the current model has left.

The information of the update is still scarce but there is a fair amount of data provided in this review to let you know everything about the latest car from Ford. It is the first time that the car features an independent rear suspension in order to upgrade the performance. The car was spotted in performing laps at Nurburgring and the initial spy photos showed that this is a vehicle to look out for.

2016 Ford Mustang GT350 exterior

When designing the newest Mustang GT350 car the makers from Ford have given it all they got. Actually they managed to pour all of the aggressiveness that they got into this car. All of it has shaped into a car which has the most menacing kind of look with all cars and is certain the meanest looking Mustang ever created. The changes start at the A-pillars and continue through the whole car, leaving only the headlights from the original Mustang car. The nose part has been shrunken as much as possible leaving a car with enhanced aerodynamic properties. Also the parts of the hood assembly have been made to be as low as possible so it measures to a about 2 inches more than seen in the base GT vehicle.

Besides the smaller shape, the front also has a bunch of added aerodynamic features. Air vents are larger and there is a new splitter added as well while inside the grille there are some added ducts that propel the air flow much better this time. The fog lights have been completely removed as they have been replaced with cooling for the brake system. With an added ducted belly pen you see how much attention was given to enhancing the aerodynamic properties of the car, making this a performance vehicle rather than any before it. Looking at the profile we also see some new 19-inch lightweight allow wheels. Around the wheels some recontoured aluminum fenders are added while the vented inner fenders are used to drag out air. At the end of the tail there is a lip spoiler added which is used to reduce drag.

Interior

The inside fits the same sporty looking exterior of the 2016 Ford Mustang GT350. The steering wheel has been designed with a flat bottom while the seats have been made with some specially designed Recaro sport buckets. These types of seats are perhaps the most suitable ones when it comes to track driving, and what also makes them special is the unique type of cloth that has been included within them. In order to design the seats, the makers went through hundreds of hours of designing and prototype assessment in order to come up with the most appropriate ones for the given use here.

In order to alleviate the distraction to the driver, which is particularly important in the heated moment of the car, all chrome and bright finishes to the inside have been removed so as to reduce glare. A tiny thing is important when making a split-second decision so keeping an eye of detail is what was important here. As the car’s performance has been enhanced, so did the gauges on the dashboard needed to change. So for the new model we have some new ones made to reflect the given speed. There are some special driving modes added to the new model which is now a standard for all high performance cars. There is a total of five of them added and they used for traction control systems, the ABS brakes, stability and suspension stiffness.

Engine

But the largest change is yet to come and it includes what is under the hood of the car. The newest Mustang GT350 is going to sport a 5.2-liter flat-plane crank V-8 and is divorcing itself form the use of the previous 5.0-lter Coyote V-8. The newest engine will create a power larger than 500 hp and is the most powerful naturally aspired engine that Ford has ever created. But using a flat-plane crank the cylinder firing order alternates among banks and results in reducing exhaust pulse overlap. The torque is only measured at 40 pound-feet, but this type of engine allows the torque to be available across huge range of the engine power band. The transmission is a lightweight six-speed manual one which turns the power through special Ford-tuned Torsen limited slip differential. The performance specs are yet to be released but judging to the mentioned innovations it is going to hit 0-60 mph under 4 seconds and speed up to a top speed of 175 mph.

Price and release date

The car was officially announced at the LA Auto Show this year but there were no indications on an accurate release date and the price of the vehicle. The 2016 model of the Ford Mustang GT350 is certainly going to appear for the upcoming model year but the actual release date is going to be known at the beginning of the year. It places the release somewhere at around mid-year. The price is not known officially but an estimated assumption is somewhere at $52,995..
